According to a psychology research and development done by the well known psychologists like Sigmund Freud, Carl Jung and Kathryn Briggs & Isabel Myers, there are 4 main functions that determine how human being uses preference of personalities to react/response to the outer world as well as inner self. They are the: Don’t find this info interest you now??? That’s because your Dominant Function is kicking in now!!! Hahahaha… I know you are arguing at this moment with whatever solid reasons you have, and you are correct, my friends. That’s because your Tertiary Function take over your Dominant Function now! Friends, please hold on to my post here. You will discover more after this lengthy info. If you were reluctantly finished this article, that’s because you allow your Secondary Function to operate at this moment! J I shall continue now… Dominant Function is what we have been comfortably and consciously using it to sense making this very meaningful world and to react /response to certain situations, events & people. Our Dominant Function has been producing what we want, meeting our needs and helping us surviving through our life all this while. And thus, we make ourselves believe that our Dominant Function has actually formed who we are today or our real identity and personality (in fact, this is just our PERSONA!!!). We do not make choices in life but we do make preference instead if we only operate underneath the Dominant Function. Secondary Function is what we lack of or seldom use to react/response to this world. Not that we do not know how to use it just that we feel uncomfortable and ineffective when using this Secondary Function. In addition, for some people to use their Secondary Function, it means to them that it’s a loss of face/identity/self esteem. They will feel insignificant, and perhaps, so wrongful to give up their principles/beliefs/values in life or so and so forth. Our new possibilities in life will only be created when we are willingly using our Secondary Function to provide alternative to this outer world and our inner self. Tertiary Function is a double agent that acts as our defend mechanism to fully support either our Dominant Function or Secondary Function. That means, when we are operating underneath our Dominant Function, Tertiary Function will fully support and defend how we perceive the world and what we believe and hold tightly to our inner self. On the other hand, if we set aside our Dominant Function and consciously letting our Secondary Function kicks in to react/response to our outer world and inner self, the Tertiary Function will then fully support and defend how we perceive the world and inner self through the Secondary Function. We shall acknowledge the existence of Tertiary Function but not committed to its seductive words and our feelings generated by it. We shall approach with no hope and no fear to the Tertiary Function in order to make the new possibilities in life be realized. Inferior Function is what we have been developed unconsciously. It consists of our untapped hidden personalities that are right opposite of our Dominant Function. The Inferior Function will only be emerged momentary during crisis, outburst or situation that leaves us helplessly but we still need to encounter/face it, spontaneously. Because of we never use of our Inferior Function consciously, it occurs to others that it’s a primitive and childish way to react/response to this outer world. Note that, it’s only through the Secondary Function that we consciously exercise that our Inferior Function will then bring forth and counter balance our Dominant Function. To be continued… (How a crisis occurs that goes through the Functions). leave me a message
